Molecular Hydrogen

WHAT IS MOLECULAR HYDROGEN (H2)?

Molecular Hydrogen is the smallest and most abundant molecule in the universe.

Molecular hydrogen gas, or H2, is the primary form in which hydrogen is found.  In other words, two hydrogen atoms (H) are covalently bonded (a type of chemical bond) together as H-H. Because there are two hydrogen atoms, we call this diatomic hydrogen, di meaning two. Because the hydrogen atoms are covalently bonded together they form a molecule; so H2 is also referred to as molecular hydrogen. We can also refer to it as dihydrogen. The hydrogen molecule contains two protons and two electrons making it a neutrally-charged molecule. It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-metallic highly flammable gas, and explosive above a 4.6% concentration by volume. Hydrogen is the smallest molecule in the universe, and this extremely small size and its high lipid solubility allows it to easily diffuse into the skin.

It's all about the dose!  Rely on NewteckH2's premium lineup of high producing Molecular Hydrogen devices to fight back, so you can live your best life.

IS MOLECULAR HYDROGEN (H2) SAFE?

Molecular Hydrogen is a natural and the most abundant element in the universe.  Molecular Hydrogen is regarded safe for use in the body.  H2 has shown no toxicity even in high concentrations.  Did you know, H2 gas is used in deep-water diving gas mixtures to prevent decompression sickness?

Notably, H2 gas combusts only at temperatures higher than 527 °C, and it explodes by chain reaction with oxygen (O2) only in the range of H2 concentration (4.6–75%, vol/vol).

HOW DOES MOLECULAR HYDROGEN WORK?

According to the Molecular Hydrogen Foundation, there are three ways molecular hydrogen exerts positive health effects.

  1. Molecular hydrogen easily diffuses into subcellular compartments where it scavenges cytotoxic oxygen radicals, thereby protecting DNA, RNA, and proteins against oxidative stress.
  1. Molecular hydrogen triggers activation or upregulation of additional antioxidant enzymes (e.g., glutathione, superoxide dismutase, catalase, and others) and/or cytoprotective proteins of the body.
  1. Molecular hydrogen may be a novel signaling molecule that alters cell signaling, cell metabolism, and gene expression. This may explain its apparent anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and anti-apoptotic (or anti-cell death) effects.

WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER THE IMPORTANCE OF H2 IN MY LIFE TODAY?

As previously mentioned, your body is actually producing Molecular Hydrogen everyday!  Consuming foods with high levels of fiber feeds your gut bacteria that support with the production of H2 gas.  The benefits of this H2 production helps neutralize the toxic damaging affects of hydroxyl radicals (*OH) and oxidative stress. So the question we have to ask is, is your body producing enough?

WHAT ARE HYDROXYL RADICALS (*OH), OXIDATIVE STRESS AND HOW DO THEY AFFECT ME?

Hydroxyl radicals can be an invasive radical species, that at high levels impact our bodies with oxidative stress and inflammation.  This reactive oxygen species if not controlled can have very damaging effects.

What is Oxidative stress? Oxidative stress is simply an imbalance of free radicals to antioxidants.  Free Radicals are oxygen containing molecules with an uneven number of electrons allowing them to be highly reactive with other molecules, resulting in oxidation (causing damage to crucial proteins, lipids and DNA.)

WHAT IF I TAKE MORE VITAMIN C/ ANTIOXIDANT, WON'T THAT HELP?

Getting the appropriate vitamins/nutrients the body needs is always very important.  It is also important to note that oxidative stress is a natural and important process in the body to keep it healthy.  It is when there is an imbalance of free radicals to antioxidants that we should be concerned. Unfortunately drinking more orange juice or eating more Kiwi's/berries won't have the same effect as Molecular Hydrogen does in combating Hydroxyl free radicals (the most harmful free radical in our bodies if left unchecked).  Antioxidants are not all equal, and each have their own benefits.  H2 has been proven in many research studies, to support the body in its fight against oxidative stress.

WHAT CAN MOLECULAR HYDROGEN SUPPORT WITH?

Molecular Hydrogen Benefits

By increasing your dose of H2 in the body, you help protect your body from the damaging effects of reactive oxygen species.  Molecular Hydrogen's extremely small size and its high lipid solubility allows it to easily diffuse into the skin.  H2 becomes an effective scavenger, easily channel through the body to neutralize free radicals, protecting the body from cell damaging effects. In addition to H2's powerful oxidative protection, it supports with up regulating cell signaling to provide anti-allergen, anti-obestiy, anti-inflammatory and many many more benefits.
